In which we continue our consideration of computer code with conditional commands, reflecting on the implications of the consequent complexity:
For all the challenges I’ve had so far in making the transition from a purely audio podcast to an audio/video podcast (this second video episode took me more than a month to produce), and in spite of the sobering realization that I’d rather not just ramblingly reflect as I go and might want to consider working through my thoughts in writing first, I have to say I’m having fun with it!
Perhaps the most fun I’ve had in preparing these episodes - which I’ve very much had to not let myself get carried away with, so as not to let it detract from the main point of this podcast arc - is getting back into TRS-80 Color Computer BASIC programming again! In fact, one of the main reasons this second video episode of the World of Code took so long to produce was that I did end up getting significantly sidetracked by my delight in getting back into BASIC programming, and produced a goodly chunk of programming (pun intended!) which focussed far too much on the details of programming in BASIC.
And so, in the interests of sharing a peronal tidbit that might be of interest to and thus a “value add” to any potential subscribers to this podcast, I’ve produced a ten-minute “outtake” reel (Yes, I really did have well over ten minutes of “outtakes” from my twenty-minute video!) which dives into some of the details of my relatively simple TRS-80 Color Computer BASIC “powerpoint” program, which will be available to subscribers only, below the “break”.
